About Me
Early Life
Janel was born in The Bronx, NY to Jamaican parents. She auditioned for and attended The Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music in the Kingsbridge neighborhood. In high school, Janel transitioned from playing the piano to playing the violin. While excelling in school, she received scholarships to The Bloomingdale School of Music in Manhattan and Music at Port Milford in Ontario, Canada.
College
While attending The University at Albany - SUNY (class of 2016), Janel was involved in orchestra and chamber music ensembles. Aside from music, Janel is also an accomplished dancer. She was part of Knemesis Dance Crew - they've opened up for ABDC and have gone on to win many dance competitions. While dancing, Janel has received scholarships from The Pulse Dance Convention and Broadway Dance Center in NYC.
Now
Janel currently lives in Westchester County, NY. She performs at different live events (wedding, birthday parties, etc). She teaches violin lessons on the weekend and works from home full time in advertising. In her spare time, she loves going choreographing and attending dance classes to keep active.
